Harry’s House is home to the work of the wonderful Harry Reeves.
Harry now in his 80’s has spent many years researching local history, especially that of the River Rea.
Harry has a life long love of rivers and became interested in the Rea when he took up a teaching post at Colmer’s Farm School, Rubery, Birmingham. As the school is near to the confluence of the River Rea and the Callow Brook.
Since his retirement he has been at the centre of all things to do with the Rea! starting the Rea Valley Conservation Group in the 1980’s.
Harry is also known for his beautiful poetry, and likes to mark special occasions with an ode! here you will find an ode to the River Rea Heritage Trail written to celebrate the trails launch.
Harry’s enthusiasm for the River Rea, as well has his talent shines through in all he writes.
